Don’t
Get Cancer!
51
Ways to Protect Your Family;
A
Homeopathic, Nutritional and Common Sense Perspective
Joette Calabrese, HMC,CCH,RSHom(NA)
The best way to beat cancer and other chronic illness is to
prevent it in the first place. And
the methods aren’t that difficult to accomplish if we stay within reasonable
guidelines that have been followed throughout the ages. At first some of these proposals may
seem daunting, but once you analyze them, you’ll surely find that many of the
suggestions are already a part of your daily habit. Take on a few new ones right away and resolve to complete
the rest of the list over a period of a few months or so.
In my work as a homeopath, I speak to many folks with cancer and
those who have it in their family. In fact, my family has a high incidence of cancer as
well. I hail from a large family
and there are far too many members we’ve lost to this modern scourge. In every case, the illness might have
been predicted. One died after using Nutri-sweet in his daily coffee over many
years, another after many years of birth control pills and other suppressive
methods to deal with hormonal problems, another after decades of steroids for asthma and still another
after repeated invasive surgeries . Far too many times I see folks who have and are taking many
drugs for a myriad of illnesses.
They believe there are no choices, when in fact there are many. We need to step outside the arena of a
drug-for-every-ill mentality and search authentic wellness. Actually, what I propose here is creeping
into the prevailing thought as we enter an era where Americans have reached the
saturation point with the pharma-cartel’s campaigns.
And understandably so. The body needs the opportunity to complete and resolve
illness. Symptoms are the overt manifestation of an illness. If every time we
experience a symptom we cover it up with drugs, the body will eventually give
up and allow that disease and a
deeper disease to manifest. In
fact, the word “symptom” means “sign” in Latin. To disengage a sign that is
only representative of what is happening on a deeper level; is tantamount to
disconnecting a smoke alarm from the kitchen ceiling while the fire is ablaze
on the stove. It aborts the
important information and allows the flame to blaze on the stove and possibly
take over the house. Instead, in homeopathy we don’t subdue the messenger; we
stimulate the body to right itself.
In doing so, we consider symptoms to be like gifts because they are the
signs that need to be paid attention to - to determine the best chosen remedy. That is, symptoms give us
pertinent information that leads us to the answers we need to resolve the
illness. Homeopathy doesn’t treat the symptoms, or even the illness. Instead, it treats the totality of
symptoms, or the person in entirety. This is done without side effects or
synergistic effects. And very politely I would add. Want to learn more?
Can we say a medicine is polite? Why yes! Homeopathy’s effects are gentle, profound and without
consequence. The only result is efficiency. Homeopathy is noble in its cause. Its goal is not to have one return time after
time for wellness checks, another round of meds or a series of invasive
procedures. Instead, it’s the
medicine capable of
restoring wellness - that is respectful of humanity.
1) Use homeopathy for colds, flu’s, ear infections, fevers,
injuries, after tooth extractions, etc. Any place you’d use antibiotics, analgesics
or any over-the-counter meds or prescription drugs. Learn as much as you can
about this vital medical discipline. It can be applied at home with a few books, CD’s and
manuals. If this seems too
daunting, schedule a
FREE 15 minute phone conversation with me to see if Homeopathy is a fit for
your new health strategy
2) Get homeopathic care for chronic conditions. Clean up allergies, resolve blood
pressure issues, remove eating disorders, depression and anxiety and put
yourself in balance. The only way
to do this is to find a reputable homeopath and meet every two months until the
body is fully poised.
3) See your alternative health care provider. Use medical doctors for diagnoses and
surgery only when your alternative health care provider (or you) can’t find a
solution and surgery is the only way. Modern medicine has a stellar ability in surgery, diagnosis
and emergency care. Everything else they offer is drug laden. That’s when you head to your alternative
practitioner such as your homeopath, chiropractor, acupuncturist, herbalist,
etc.
4) Eat grass fed meat and as rare as you find palatable. The FDA tells us that meat that’s been
frozen for 2 weeks is free from live pathogens, so steak tartar can be enjoyed
without concern. If you find rare
meat unpleasant, then at least follow the dairy suggestions in #16.
5) Eat organic and as much local as possible.
Support small farmers. They need us and we need them…. ‘Sounds like a match. Folks are trustworthy when they
meet you face to face and the quality of fresh and organic products are far
superior.
6) Get lots of
sunshine. That is; lay out
at noon and without sunscreen. In fact throw the bottle in the garbage.
Just be prudent and cover up if it’s your first day out in a
long time. Skin cancer can be
caused by the sun if the sun has damaged the skin, just as an injury to the
breast can cause cancer later. Sun injured skin is caused by a fairly serious
burn; the kind that’s memorable. Instead,
allow the sun to give you that nice feel of a tingle on the skin. Know your skin well enough to recognize
when it would be prudent to remove yourself from its rays. Before a burn can develop, cover up, or
head for the shade. Isn’t that
what we did before sunscreen? The
true cause of skin cancer has much more to do with what’s going on inside, not
outside.
7) Honor the family. Pope Benedict
said, “Pray for the integrity of the family”. The family is the basis of your team for life. If you’re not married yet; choose well. The trauma from poor marital choices
can put one in harm’s way for many chronic illnesses due to significant stresses.
If you’re married, remember that
love is a choice.
8) Prepare your
own meals. This means
nothing from a box. If you’re reading labels, you’ve already
made the wrong selection.
Buy plain chicken, fresh broccoli, a head of lettuce, fresh eggs, and
butter. At least start by making your own salad dressings. I have been helping Moms to prepare
healthy foods with my CD
Secret Spoonfuls – Confessions of a Sneaky Mom
9) Make your
pro-biotic edible. No need
to buy expensive pro-biotics in capsules. Instead, eat food with live enzymes daily….delicious
fermented vegetables. Make them
yourself…they’re easy to assemble! Or buy from your local health food store. Probiotics are also found in real
yogurt, raw milk, raw vinegar, old fashioned styled pickles, sauerkraut and raw
egg yolks.
10) Eat a diet in high fat: butter, lard, coconut
oil, chicken fat,
whole fat dairy products and do so in abundance. Forget moderation; we’ve eaten
a low fat paradigm for decades.
It’s time to compensate for those faulty years. Animal and tropical fats
are what our bodies need and crave.
Eschew the “olas”…..canolas, Mazola….they’re manufactured names for made
up products.
11)
Don’t use deodorant. Instead, shower and rub coconut oil in
well. Then use baking soda and
French clay. One of my favorite ways
to do this is to mix in small container one half baking soda with one half
French or edible clay. If you want a fragrance, stir in a drop or two of lavender,
tangerine or lemon oil. Keep this
on your bathroom counter in a lovely container. Lightly dab it on the skin, wipe off any residue, too much
can cause a mild irritation because of the salt in the baking soda.
12) No chemical hair dyes. The most
sophisticated look in older women is a flattering hair style with natural grey
tresses. Most dyes look peculiar
anyway.
13) No mammograms. The information they offer is not definitive. And multiple exposures to the scanning rays can cause damage
to the sensitive tissues. Trauma to the breast is a documented cause of breast
cancer. Instead, consider the new high-tech
diagnostic tool called thermography.
It can help detect cancer and disease anywhere in the body. It’s non-invasive, painless and reliable.
Ask your alternative practitioner
for references.
14) Get gentle exercise, such as a walk in
fresh air at least every few days with a friend or your spouse. A second good choice if you’re not into athletics is to
bounce your way to light exercise with a rebounder. Inexpensive and fun with the music playing.
15) Pray and follow your faith fully by
going to church or synagogue regularly. Teach your
children to do the same…it gounds us to our true purpose in life.
16) Drink raw milk and in plentitude no
matter your age. If you’re allergic
or have intolerance to even raw milk then seek homeopathic care. Europeans, Native Americans, Africans
and any culture in which milk was drunk for centuries should be capable of imbibing.
Most milk intolerances are
attributable to the process of high heat that the delicate milk is subjected
to. If there is still a problem
with raw milk, it means there’s a metabolic block that can be relieved by good
homeopathic constitutional care.
17)
Learn about vaccines…not from the people who promote them, but from
those who don’t. The science behind the vaccine theory is faulty. Learn how to protect
yourself and family through homeopathy.
Homeopathy has a reputation throughout the world for protecting against
the most virulent infectious diseases.
Read the
testimonies my clients have sent me.
18) Forget invasive medical procedures
unless there is a warning that something is truly wrong. That is; mammograms, colonoscopies,
sonograms, x-rays, amniocentesis. Save
them for when there’s a need to find out why there are unusual symptoms. Most
of these methods are expensive in relationship to our well-being. They can be justified only under
pathological conditions.
19) If you’re light skinned and freckled
it’s likely you’ll have a-typical cells develop on the skin from time to time.
A-typical cells are not synonymous with cancer. Let me repeat; a-typical cells do not
mean cancer. They are cells that
perhaps could turn into cancer some day. Big difference. If
they show up and of course, even if they don’t, then keep cancer from
developing by embracing a healthier life style.
20) No root canals.
Take care of your teeth before problems begin. That is,
eat whole fat such as butter, raw milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt and kefir. If in spite of your
efforts (after all, heredity comes into play in regards to our teeth. Well
everything, for that matter) a root canal is suggested by your dentist, find a
dentist who will consider pulling the tooth instead. George Meinig, DDS the founder of the association of
root canal specialists, stated in his book “Root Canal Cover-up” that after years
of performing and teaching root canal procedures, he believes they are a
dangerous practice, setting up the body for later chronic disease. Cancer has frequently been linked to a
smoldering inflammation. What
better place for this to occur than in a faulty root canal. Dr. Meinig’s book is available at Amazon.com
21) “If you don’t want it in; don’t put it
on your skin.” I’ve said this for years particularly
since I suffered with eczema as a young person and learned the hard way. What
we rub into the skin is directly absorbed into the blood stream. Hence if your skin is dry, chapped, has
rashes, etc. put nothing on it unless it’s 100% edible. Anything
put on the skin is absorbed into the blood stream within minutes. I first recognized this when I used to
rub my children’s feet with olive oil and fresh garlic when they had a
fever. (By the way, this method
often aids illnesses that result in fever). Within minutes of applying the garlic, I could smell it on
their breath. That’s how fast the skin absorbs anything applied to it. This
doesn’t mean that we are safe to use products that include oats or aloe vera, likely these are not the only ingredients. Preservatives, steroids, colorants and
synthetic fragrances are unsafe and require the liver to work overtime. A
good skin lotion? Try coconut oil,
butter without salt, lard…even plain yogurt rubbed in well. And no petroleum oil please.
22) Read intelligent literature. Listen to intelligent music. Immerse yourself with
information that’s not proposed by big industry and or government. Find the
answers from those with a conscience. It will make you smarter, so you won’t be as susceptible to marketing
suggestions of capricious and budget-aware medical arenas. I can predict the health
of someone by asking what they read.
23) Learn to live with an occasional headache,
stomach ache, fever, acne, sore muscles. Quit whining,
Go to bed and sweat it out. Not
everything requires a pill. This
is another way of saying stay away from drugs. When we remove the symptom now, we pay later.
24) Find alternatives to chemicals for
cleaning and maintaining your home. Bon Ami is a
great cleanser without chlorine, vinegar naturally disinfects the floors,
countertops and makes windows sparkle. Learn the old methods that aren’t toxic.
25) Stay away from canned, plastic and
aseptic contained foods. This harkens once
again to the edict of making your own meals. Container foods are replete with unhealthy methods and
additives.
26) No soy, no fruit juice that you don’t
juice yourself, no margarine and absolutely no diet soda…..Do I really need to mention this? No artificial ingredients.
27) Eat at home. Then invite family and friends. What
fun! It’s less costly to your
pocket book as well as your health.
No one will prepare food as lovingly and purely as you. Well…. maybe, but who can really afford to eat a Maxim’s in Paris every
night?
28) Learn how to use homeopathy for
everyday issues. I’ve already said this earlier but it
bears repeating. Knowing how to
treat your family is empowering, inexpensive and safe. Get yourself a homeopathy kit of 50-100
of the top remedies most often used, some CD’s, books and start studying what
your family suffers from most.
Then you’ll be prepared with safe and effective treatment. Too intimidating? Then get yourself a good homeopath
and count on him/ her to do it for you.
Check out this great offer if you truly want be your family’s “go-to for health” Mom.
29) Absolutely no lawn sprays.
Instead simply toss grass seed on the lawn on a regular basis and give
it a neat edge cut around it.
It makes for a lush and tidy lawn. Lawn sprays are made from lethal
derivatives of Agent Orange used in Viet Nam. Just in case you’re too young to know, the use of these
neuro toxins resulted in our soldiers returning with remarkable numbers of
chronic illness, cancer and early deaths.
30) In relation to pesticides, no
insecticides either! Carpenter ants are
best dealt with by finding their source…wet, rotted wood. Once you find their nest, you’ll be
grateful they pointed the way. They
only live in these conditions and you need to find it anyway. Then replace the wood, clean out the
nest and pour boric acid mixed 50/50 with powdered sugar. It will kill those that remain and the
sugar will attract them to complete the job. Fire ants and other insects can be exterminated with a pot of
boiling hot water poured on the infestation.
31) Throw out your microwave. Use your stove top, oven, toaster oven or crock
pot instead. It has been shown that micro-waved foods rearrange the chemical
constituents of food. A landmark law suit in 1991 provided evidence that
microwaving can cause a health threat. Norma Levitt was killed when the blood used for her
transfusion, was warmed in a microwave by a nurse!
32) Keep your organs.
I know, it seems like we don’t need the uterus after menopause, the appendix
or adenoids, but God didn’t make a mistake in allowing them to sit there as
useless tissue ready to make trouble. Despite modern medical-babble, each and
every organ has a basis for existence even after time. If an organ is cancerous, it could
justify the removal. Then we use
homeopathy and whole nutrition to remove the incidence of its return. Unfortunately, far too many folks
submit to a gall bladder removal only to find that a few short years later, cancer
appears. This is not a
coincidence. When an organ gives
you trouble, see your alternative practitioner. Chiropractic, homeopathy,
naturopathy, acupuncture and other medical paradigms have a history of
addressing ills that many are unaware of.
33) Abstain from hormones.
No birth control pills, suppressive shots or IUD’s with added hormones. Using synthetic hormones to eliminate
the possibility of pregnancy is dangerous tampering with a powerful endocrine
system. Mother Nature doesn’t like
to be interfered with. Instead, learn
how your body works by becoming acquainted with the exquisite method of Natural
Family Planning. Breast, liver and cervical cancers
have been associated with the taking of birth control pills and hormone
replacement therapy. These types of suppressive measures carry a big punch.
34) When it’s time for menopause, enjoy a
high fat traditional diet instead of submitting to hormones.
You might find that your hormones don’t really need to be replaced by synthetic
drugs of commerce. And quite
possibly you won’t become a more likely candidate for cancer later in life. Worry about bone loss? We’re not drug
deficient…we’re nutrient deficient. Instead of synthetic medicaments eat bone broths, full fat
yogurt and or raw milk regularly and your bones will naturally be strong. Logic is a beautiful thing.
35) Here’s something you might not have
yet heard. A link has been shown between abortions
and breast cancer later in life. It’s
just another form of suppression.
36) It’s easy to follow someone else’s
direction and just take an antibiotic or steroids. It takes more effort to know when an illness is something you
can handle yourself. In fact
everything worthwhile is worth our committed effort. Learn
to take care of yourself and family. We’ve been medically and drug dependent for far too long.
37) Drink pure water. Have yours checked for contaminants and then rectify. Make sure you eliminate any fluoride in
your water. This brings me to the
next entry.
38) No fluoride treatments or toothpastes with flouride as an
ingredient. Studies (and
there are plenty) show that fluoride treatments have been linked to to cancer.
39) Inflammation is the big buzz word in relation to cancer and
other chronic illnesses. So what can cause inflammation? Think of the foods you eat. For many, one of the most inflammatory foods is grains. Minimize your intake of grains
particularly if you already have an inflammation such as swollen joints, stools
that are not well formed and/or chronic sinus drainage. Often the foods we eat are the exciting
cause.
40) Eat foods that are traditional and have been eaten by healthy
folk for centuries. No manufactured foods, low fat, sugarless gimmicks.
41) Use glass to store your foods. Use cast iron and enamel cookware. Use glass or 100% lead –free
ceramic dishes.
42) Wash your clothes in unscented laundry detergent and avoid the
fabric softener.
43) Don’t dry clean your clothes. You might be surprised how often most
clothes, even wool can be cleaned by setting outside for a few days to air
out. Many can be gently hand washed. Then take them to the drycleaners for a
professional pressing. I’ve done
this with wool skirts, pants and even wool coats.
44) Stay away from sugar substitutes. Sugar is implicated in many ills, but
Nutri-sweet and its cousins are the true scoundrels of the sweet world.
45) Avoid Coffee. I always hesitate to mention
this, but I urge you to make whatever you do daily to be 100% towards adding value
to life. And that includes a
discussion of coffee. Coffee is not
only a stimulant, but a diuretic that is implicated in many ills, particularly urinary
tract and heart. If you’re seeking
optimum health, this is an important consideration.
46) Use the Hot Water Bottle. With the cold weather months at
present, many are getting their electric blankets in the ready. Instead, I urge you to use hot water
bottles in bed instead. There have
been dangerous associations between electro-magnetic rays and developing
fetuses. The energy of electricity
so close to and associated with the body can be disturbing to the body’s
ability to rest properly, heal and is implicated in certain cancers.
47)
Eat fats, fats and
more fats…that are traditional fats. Enjoy them in abundance and not only for
their culinary delights, but the robust health you’ll experience as a result. Butter, coconut oil, lard, the skin on
chicken, the fat that comes in the beef and lamb, cod liver oil, whole real cream,
full-fat cheese, full fat yogurt.
Eat like a gourmet, like an epicurean European or an old time American
farmer. Worried about
gaining weight? Then eliminate the
grains and other carbohydrates.
48) Make birth a simple, natural event. No drugs and procedures please. If you’ve already had your children,
encourage the next generation to embrace natural methods of birth and then
support them.
49) Nurse your babies. Nothing is better for baby as well as
mother than to nurse for an extended time.
50) Stay away from meds. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but
I tend to repeat myself when I get excited. Medications are increasingly implicated as cancer producing
agents. Keep your body pure. Sweat out a fever (its curative), put up
with a cold and treat the rash homeopathically. Adjust your life to the needs of your body. Don’t force your body to acquiesce to a
drug. The body has the
ability to resolve many health issues if allowed to respond without restraint. Every pill, ointment, or capsule is a method
of concealing the body’s natural ability to right the wrong. Suppressed symptoms equal pathology
later…not always cancer, but why take the chance? Learn
to cure yourself and family.
51) Do your homework. Just because someone tells you that this
is it, doesn’t mean it is. Question, find the
alternative and then question them as well. There are more myths abounding than truths.
